Beating one& #39;s wife s eems to be ingrained in ma ny me n's mindse ts as the approp riate behaviour for a stro ng male, bu t the consequences are mis ery f or the wife and chi ldren, a nd often a brok en, unh appy home. The con cept of domestic violen ce is based on the notion of patriarchy, which needs to be con verted into equality. Ep 08:To xic Food - Poison On Our Plate ? F or decad es our food and w ater have b een contaminat ed by powerf ul, harmfu l pesticides which have been prom oted as necessary for bett er agricultural output. But the reality is that we don 9;t ne ed pest icides for better yield, and their u se is not only dead ly for health but resu lts in expensi ve farmin g methods. The solution is to adopt organic f arming, whic h is possi ble and profitable , as t he s tate of Sikkim has shown. Ep09:Alcoh ol Abus e - Think Befo re You Dr ink Alcohol con sumption is assoc iated with having fun and enjoying life. But exces sive, irresponsible drinking takes away that very life itself. Many alcohol add icts have climbed back to normal life, provi ng that it is possible to live happily without alcohol. Help for alcoholics is av ailable, free, at Alcoholics Anony mous.
